For oversea sales people, I would say the global mindset and open mind are really important. Especially, to make a good relationship, even if you are not familiar to speak in English, no worries. Your mindset will help you.
I am not a master of English and even sales. I just have worked as a sales manager about 3 years. And it is my first time to join in foreign conference by myself to promote who we are and how we can help them.
In this event, I could build really good relationship and friendship. I could meet Kassym who is the owner of Square. He has really great skills and mind about AI tech but also philosophy. We talked a lot about not just our business and translation needs but also AI stuff and even family.
If I was just trying to explain our service and quit the conversation, I could not build relationship. Also, even though you are not able to explain your service, it is okay. You might able to learn other things.
Yes, contract will be important for you. But, learning of life and human being and knowing each other are more important I think.
Be more opened to all of them who will meet everywhere (not to robber ^^;;). You can get some diamonds that you didn’t expect before!
