처음으로 혼자 해외 컨퍼런스에 가서 세일즈 활동을 하고 온 후기를 남기고자 한다. 정말 두렵기도 했고 걱정도 많이 했지만 긍정적인 경험들이 많았다.

1. 다양한 산업에서, 다양한 방법으로 AI 활용

사람들은 일반적으로 AI를 들으면 ChatGPT를 떠올릴 것이다. 하지만 AI는 그 외에 엄청나게 다양한 방법으로 활용되고 있다.

IT는 기본이고, 농업, 핀테크, 푸드 테크 등 여러 분야에서 AI가 활용되고 있다. 앞으로도 더 많은 부분에서 AI를 활용해 여러 문제점을 해결하고 이를 통해 많은 회사가 설립될 것으로 보인다.

2. 로봇의 발전

어떤 부스에서는 로봇을 전시하고 있었다. 인간의 모습을 띤 로봇과 강아지 로봇이 있었다. 강아지 로봇은 뛰어 다닐 수 있었고 발을 내밀기도 했다. 인간 로봇이 압권이었다. 살짝 뛰기도 했고 사람들 앞으로 나아가 악수를 청하기도 하며 카메라로 촬영하는 사람 앞에선 손을 들고 인사를 하기도 했다.

재밌었던 광경은 인간 로봇을 촬영하던 사람이 있었는데, 로봇이 그녀에게 다가가자 그녀는 무섭다는 듯이 로봇을 피해 도망다녔다. 왜 알고리즘이 세팅된 로봇을 무서워 했을까.

- 로봇이 자신을 해칠까봐?
- 실수로 로봇을 넘어트려 손상을 입히면 피해 보상을 해야 할까봐?
- 계속 자신을 따라오는지 실험하고 싶어서?

이 부분이 시사하는 바가 크다고 본다. 이제 사람들은 두려워하기 시작했다. 현재 드론이 무기로 사용되고 있는 것처럼, 조만간 이 로봇들이 전쟁의 도구로 사용되는 날도 머지 않았다.

3. 세일즈 하기 좋은 열린 마인드

100%는 아니지만, 대체적으로 한국 고객 대비 다가가기 수월했다. 태국 고객에겐 내가 외국인이기 때문에 좀 더 열린 자세였다. 우리 서비스에 대해 설명하고 도울 수 있음을 말했더니 확실히 한국 분들보다 반응, 분위기가 달랐다.

비록 부스 참가는 아니었지만 이런 오픈된 이벤트에서 세일즈를 할 수 있다는 점도 좋았고 큰 경험이 되었다.

또한, 한국 고객 분들이 번역 서비스 및 이런 영업에 대해 관대했다. 오히려 나에게 영업 기회를 알려 주고 응원해 주셨다.

앞으로도 좋은 경험을 하며 좋은 일들이 일어나길 기대해본다.

It was my first time to visit oversea conference alone. I want to share my insight about this experience. I was afraid to visit it but I could get positive experiences.

1. Various AI Usage in Various Industry

Normally, people may think about ChatGPT when they heard about ‘AI’. But AI are being used as many ways.

AI is used in IT, agriculture, Fintech, Food tech and etc. With the AI, many companies will be established to solve many and various problems consistently.

2. Development of Robot

Some company exhibited robots which are human and dog. The dog robot could run and stretched out its paw. The human robot was insane. The robot made small hops, approached people to shake hands, and raised its hand to greet those filming with their cameras.

The interesting moment was that one of people filmed a human robot. The robot reached out to her. Then, she was scared about it so she ran away from it. Why she was afraid about it?

- Will robot heart?
- Was she afraid she might have to compensate for damages if she accidentally knocked the robot?
- Did she want to test whether it would keep following her?

It shows us that now people are afraid about the robot. Recently, army has drone as a weapon so the robot can be used for the war soon.

3. Mindset To Do Sales

It cannot be 100% but it was quite easy to reach out to the customers comparing to Korean clients. For Thai people, I am a foreigner so they were quite open mind to me. They were quite positive about me when I explained our service.

Although I didn’t join as a booth but it was great for me to learn how to do sales at oversea conference.

Also, Korean clients were kind about our translation service and sales. I was worried but on the contrary, they let me know to do sales at the conference as cheering me.

I look forward to learn and experience like this event.
